The Living Word Christian Ministries was founded in August of 2002. It was born from a vision God birthed in Pastor Michael J. Carter to provide a venue where the Spirt of God has the liberty to impact the lives of people. Upon answering the call, God began to direct the Pastor in organizing the ministry staff and administration. A meeting was held to unfold the vision and determine who the trail blazers would be. God moved by sending faithful Christians to serve in leadership positions. With great excitement and anticipation, we began in August with a wonderful installation service at Berry Elementary School in Charles County, Maryland. Berry Elementary was a new school and a great place to continue holding services.

Although we liked the school, it limited our activities in terms of building accesssiblity. God blessed us in February 2003 by allowing us to move from Berry Elementary school to our own leased building located at 2224 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland.

This came with a few challenges as well. We had to perform a few modifications to the building. Tear a few walls down and build some up. Again, the Lord provided. Many contractors blessed us with free labor and some great prices. We all worked day and night to complete the project so that we would be in our new tent by the first Sunday in February.

Upon the completion of the building construction, God touched someone's heart to donate the podium, the final touch.

Praise God, we accomplished our goals by having our first service in the new facility the first Sunday in February. This was timely due to our holding Communion on the first Sunday of each month. This was a special day for us as we realized that with God's grace and a little hard work things can happen.

Our expectations are high, we believe that God can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we ask or think Praise God!
